National Night Out is a unique crime/drug prevention, community oriented event.  This nationwide event involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, local businesses, neighborhood organizations, and local officials from over 10,000 communities.

National Night Out is designed to:

• Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
• Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
• Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
• Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Every year the Pierce Township Police Department holds a community gathering at the Pierce Township Park.  This event is a great opportunity for the community to meet many of the police officers, see many types of police vehicles and equipment, listen to music, and fellowship with other residents.
